Hailing from Italy, this dynamic young musician dazzles as both a soloist and chamber musician while also weaving his own musical narratives as a composer. With a Master of Arts and Advanced Diploma from the prestigious Royal Academy of Music in London, he honed his craft under the tutelage of renowned mentors including Felix Schmidt, Mario Brunello, Moray Welsh, Sung-Won Yang and Colin Carr.
Alberto has graced the stages of some of the world’s most iconic venues, from the majestic Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory to the illustrious Royal Albert Hall in London. His performances have echoed in celebrated halls such as Cortot Hall in Paris, Teatro Comunale of Bologna, Teatro G. Verdi of Pisa, Teatro Massimo of Pescara, Fondazione Cariplo Auditorium, Teatro Manzoni in Milan, Teatro G. Rossini di Pesaro, Teatro A.Ponchielli in Cremona, Salone Estense in Varese, Schloss Elmau, Kaiser Friedrich Halle in Mönchengladbach, Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht and the Philharmonie in Haarlem, each note resonating with the vibrant energy he brings to his craft.
He has collaborated with esteemed orchestras like the Virtuosi Italiani in Verona, the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra, the Filarmonica Marchigiana, the Orchestre Symphonique d’Orléans, the Lviv Philarmonica Orchestra, the Camerata Strumentale of Prato, the Uto Ughi per Roma Orchestra in Rome and the National Philharmonic of Ukraine in Kiev, working alongside visionary conductors such as Valery Gergiev, David Crescenzi, Marius Stieghorst, Marco Zuccarini, Michele Mariotti, Nicola Paszkowski and Edward Higginbottom. His musical journey has seen him share the stage with illustrious artists, including the Signum Saxophone Quartet, Salvatore Accardo, Ilya Grubert, Naum Grubert, Toby Hoffman, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Daniel Jobim, Vanessa Da Mata, Claude Richard, Lyda Chen-Argerich, Guo Gan, Bruno Giuranna, Rocco Filippini and Hector Ulises Passerella.
Alberto’s prowess has not gone unnoticed; he’s has won numerous competitions, including Antonio Janigro Cello Competition in Croatia, the London Making Music Award for Young Concert Artists in UK, the Gaetano Zinetti Chamber Music Competition in Italy, the Astor Piazzolla “Libertango” Competition in Russia, the CIDIM “Nuove Carriere” in Italy, the London Grand Prize Virtuoso, the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe Competition. At the Royal Academy of Music, he earned the prestigious Wilfrid Parry Prize and the Cavatina Trust Competition, solidifying his reputation as a rising star.
With experience as Principal Cellist for the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the Arena di Verona Orchestra and the Orchestra Mozart under Claudio Abbado, Alberto’s orchestral achievements cement his status as a musician of exceptional caliber.
Beginning his cello studies with his father, Claudio, he won his first competition at just five years old, showcasing a prodigious talent that would only flourish. He graduated from the Music Conservatory “G.Rossini” in Pesaro with the highest marks and also completed studies with David Geringas, Natalia Gutman and Gary Hoffman at the Scuola di Musica of Fiesole, with Franco Maggio Ormezowski in Perugia, Boris Baraz at the Santa Cecilia Academy in Bergamo, Rocco Filippini at the “Stauffer” String Academy in Cremona and chamber music with Konstantin Bogino at the Imola Academy “Incontri col Maestro”.
Currently, he shares his expertise as a cello professor at the Music Conservatory “G. Braga” in Teramo, Italy, inspiring the next generation of musicians. He co-founded, along with the last descendant of the legendary Stradivari dynasty, Luca Natali Stradivari, the Stradivari International Music Academy, a beacon of musical exellence.
In June 2022, Alberto was honored to represent Italy at the Italian Republic Day in Miami, a testament to his growing influence on the international stage. He plays a historic Domenico Rogieri cello from 1698, once owned by the legendary Pablo Casals, alongside a Yamaha Silent Cello SVC 210.
